Pattaya lies at a distance of 150 km to the southeast
of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Till the
1960's, Pattaya Beach was a small fishing village
when the people from Bangkok made it a weekend
getaway. Now a full-fledged city with its own
Mayor and Administration, Pattaya has something
to offer to all its tourists. Pattaya Beach is
known for its natural beauty, clean pollution-free
environment, safe nightlife and plenty of seafood.
Pattaya is most famous as a beach resort. The
long stretch of unpolluted and clear beach makes
for a perfect setting to laze under the sun to
get a bronze suntan. You can keep your cool by
sipping coconut water and alcoholic or non-alcoholic
beverages. Indulge in water sports like Parasailing,
Water-Skiing, Water Scooter, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling
and Motor Boats. There are plenty of activities
at the beach to keep you busy for the entire day.
If you are interested in little exclusiveness,
head for the Jomtien Beach. It is little less
crowded then the Pattaya Beach. All water sports
are available on this beach as well. If nothing
interests you, just take a long stroll along the
beach and collect the seashells as souvenirs.
The major attractions of Pattaya Beach are:
